Bart Charles Silver
July 4, 1932 - Feb. 19, 2024
JEROME - Bart Charles Silver of Jerome, Idaho passed away peacefully at his home on February 19, 2024. He was 91.
Dad was born July 4, 1932 in Hailey, Idaho. The family moved to Jerome in 1937. Though he was raised during the Great Depression, when money and jobs were scarce, there was never a shortage of love, chores or shenanigans at the Silver household.
After serving four years in the Navy, Dad attended the Twin Falls Business College, where he met Delores Durfee. They were married July 8, 1955. Mom passed in September 2020, after 65 glorious years of marriage.
Their four children were the centers of their world. Dad coached our sports teams and instilled a love for horses, hunting and camping in his children.
He and his brother George owned Jerome Gas & Oil and Buhl Gas & Oil for many years.
He is survived by their four children: Deborah (Leroy Hayes), Bret (Laurie), Michael (Lisa) and Katie (John); as well as his "bonus" daughter, niece, Kristy Silver. He also had 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren (with four more on the way).
His health began to decline several months ago and Deborah, Bret and Mike would like to acknowledge and thank Katie for everything she did while caring for Dad.
Together with hospice support, Katie did an amazing job at ensuring his needs were met and his quality of life remained good until the end. Mom and Dad are now together again.
A service will be held at Demaray Funeral Home in Jerome, Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at the Jerome Cemetery.
Family suggests donations be made to Shriner's Hospital in lieu of flowers.

We send our Deepest Sympathy to all the family. Bart, along with Delo, were fantastic Guardians for the Job's Daughters Bethel 14 in Jerome. I'm sure they inspired many of the girls with their guidance, patience and love they shared with them. Bart was a pleasure to know and work with. We will remember him fondly. Our hearts go out to all his family, especially to Lisa and Katie, who we knew personally. With Sympathy and Love, we send Prayers.

I am so sorry for your loss, and pray for your comfort at this time. My husband, Dick Floyd, worked for Bart and really respected him.
