On Sunday, July 11, 2021, Galen Boyd "Butch" Newhouse, a loving father of three children, grandpa of 10, and a pilot with a passion for friendships and life passed away at the age of 80. Butch was born on October 5, 1940, in Rupert, Idaho to Fred and Verda Newhouse. He received his pilots' license at the age of 16 and earned over 20,000 recorded flight hours. He also received a BA in business administration at the College of Idaho. He owned and operated several car dealerships and was an avid pilot and later engaged in aircraft sales, spending most of his time at the Caldwell airport.

Butch had a passion for adventure teaching his kids and others how to have fun including boating, waterskiing, sailing, snow skiing, go-kart racing, motorcycle riding and mostly spending time with friends. He was known for his quick wit, love of airplanes, and spending time with fellow pilots in his hangar.
Butch was preceded in death by his father Fred and mother Verda and his sister La Keta.
He is survived by his three children, Janey, Jason, and John, grandchildren, Brooks, Jeremy, Beau, Jake, Hannah, Halle, Nick, Mason, Makena, and Kylie, his brother Monte, and sister Shana, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held in McCall Idaho at the McCall Cemetery at 1 p.m. on July 24, 2021, with a gathering to celebrate his life, immediately following at the Yacht Club in McCall, where he spent millions of dollars (lol) and hours!
