TWIN FALLS - Lou Nelson, 90, of Twin Falls passed away peacefully December 13, 2023 at St. Luke's in Boise, Idaho surrounded by her family.
Lou was born on May 4, 1933 in Burley, ID to Vandetta (Bunn) Wolf and Joseph Franz Wolf. She graduated from Burley High School in 1951 and attended Idaho State University.
Lou married Fred Nelson, her high school classmate, on April 24, 1955. Lou and Fred were true soulmates, enjoying 60 wonderful years of marriage together. The couple first lived in Texas while Fred served in the U.S. Air Force. They returned to Burley in 1958. Fred and Lou moved to Twin Falls in 1970 where they built their new home and lived for the past 53 years.
Lou enjoyed golfing and spent many happy times with friends at Blue Lakes Country Club and on various golfing vacations. She also loved to play bridge, travel, cook, and garden in her beautiful yard.
She was a member of P.E.O. Chapter AO in Twin Falls and St. Edwards Catholic Church. Lou's family was very important to her and she was a great wife, mother, and grandmother. Lou was an excellent cook and her baking skills were so revered that her grandchildren gave her the name "Cookie Lou" when they were young and the name stuck. She was known as Cookie Lou in the family.
Lou was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred Nelson, her parents, her brother, Lloyd Wolf, sisters: Rose Schenk and Nellie Tjaden, and infant son, Michael Nelson. She is survived by a son, Craig (Carolyn) Nelson of Twin Falls, a daughter, Anne (Steve) Miller of Boise, and two grandchildren: Erik (Maria) Miller of Boise and Katherine Miller of Australia.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, January 25, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at the Stone House, 330 4th Ave. S, Twin Falls. Prior to the Celebration of Life, a Catholic Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. at St. Edwards Catholic Church, 161 6th Ave. E, Twin Falls for those who wish to attend.

So sorry to hear about the loss of this dear woman. Had the privilege of working for her and Fred for a short period of time. Great people. Always thought she looked like Suzanne Phlishett. Not sure about the spelling. RIP. Mrs Nelson.
