Paul Holcomb Obituary

Paul Eugene Holcomb

February 14, 1946 - August 19, 2025

Paul Eugene Holcomb passed away at home peacefully on Tuesday August 19th, 2025 surrounded by his family. Paul fought a hard and courageous battle against AML (Leukemia) and Glioblastoma (brain cancer). One of Paul's greatest attributes was his sense of humor, which he kept to the very end.

Paul was born in Hobart, Oklahoma on February 14th, 1946 to Joe and Elvie Holcomb. The family moved to Hansen, Idaho in 1958. Paul played football, basketball and ran track in high school. He graduated high school in 1964. He attended Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa, Idaho, and also served six years with the U.S. Army Reserve.

Paul married his life-long sweetheart, Janet Jackson, on June 10th 1966. Two wonderful children were born as a result of this union, Cindy and Mark. He farmed from 1966 to 1993, and then sold fertilizer in Southern Idaho and Northern Nevada before retiring in 2012. He also served on the Twin Falls County Fair Board from 2001 to 2009.

During his retirement, his most precious time was being able to spend with his three grandchildren. His family was his world. Paul loved to travel, whether it was simply taking his motorhome and razor camping, going on cruises, or traveling to many other destinations. It didn't matter where, as long as he was with his family and friends. If he wasn't traveling, playing cards or games, you could find him maintaining his beautiful yard.

Paul is survived by his wife Janet Holcomb and his two children, Cindy Holcomb (Amy Walsh) and Mark Holcomb (Kate Holcomb) and three grandchildren: Bentley Walsh-Holcomb and Paul and Chris Holcomb. Paul is also survived by his brother, Gerald Holcomb of Kimberly, Idaho and his sister, Mary Holcomb Harmeson of Cleveland, Tennessee.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Elvie Holcomb, brother, John Holcomb and sister, Marge Branscum.

The viewing will be held at Rosenau Funeral Home Thursday, August 28th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 29th from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM with an early viewing from 12:00 to 12:45 PM at Rosenau Funeral Home. The interment will be held at Sunset Memorial at 2:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Huntsman Cancer Institute of Salt Lake City, Utah.

Here's to a wonderful neighbor and gentleman. I enjoyed many good conversations with Paul; either over the fence or leaning on my shovel. You will be missed.

I had many wonderful interactions with Paul as I was part of the social work team that took care of Elvie- who I adored. What a great family. So sorry for your loss.
