Addison Gillis Obituary

YOUNGSTOWN Addison Wesley Gillis, 80, died Friday afternoon August 15, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born November 30, 1944 in Philippi, WV, a son of Addison E. and Elva G. Glady Gillis. Mr. Gillis served with the United States Army and was a bricklayer for John D. Construction for over 30 years. Addison was a member of the Hubbard VFW Post No. 3767 and enjoyed woodworking. He leaves two daughters, Angela Cochran and her husband Robert of Lake Milton and Amy Gillis of Austintown; a brother, Gerald Gillis and his wife Geraldine of Philippi, WV; a sister, Delores Fluharty of Des Moines, IA; 3 grandchildren and his longtime companion, Judy Minner. Addison was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Earnest, Roscoe and Arthur Gillis and a sister, Rebecca McCauley. Family and friends may call on Friday August 22, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Kelley-Cummins Funeral Home. Memorial services will follow at the funeral home at 1:00 PM.
