Carol Prather Obituary

Carol Louise Prather, age 94, of Canfield, OH, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, in her home, surrounded by family who loved her deeply. She was born on September 17, 1930, to Victor M. and Hazel E. (Kibler) Bluemner in Caseyville, IL. On July 3, 1948, she married the late Clarence Prather of Caseyville, IL-the love of her life. Together, they welcomed six beautiful children into the world: Vickie, Michael, Jane, Cathy, Missy, and Chrissy. She had a love for reading, crocheting, golfing, and playing the piano. But most of all, spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. After retirement, Carol and Clarence found joy in traveling across the country by RV and motorcycle. Carol will be lovingly remembered by her daughters: Vickie (Ken) Goehring of Canfield, Jane Roberts of Canfield, and Missy Reebel of North Jackson. She also leaves behind her brother, Edward (Lois) Bluemner of Illinois, and her dearest friend, Marge Gay of Canfield. Her legacy continues through her beloved ten grandchildren: James (Dianna) Prather, Michelle (Donald) Shidemantle, James (Rachael) Kostelic, Angela Wilson, Molly (Mario) Kostelic, Patti Ferri, Elizabeth (Weyman) Jackson, Joseph (Bob) Roberts, Heather Foley, and Anthony Foley. Carol was very blessed with seventeen great-grandchildren: Stewart, Gavin (Brooke), Emily (Lyndsay), David, Ryan (Amanda), Holly, Peyton, Mackenzie, Michael, Morgan, Riley, Kaylee (Chris), Maddie, Bradyn, Sammi, Austyn, and Landyn. She had the honor of being a great-great-grandmother to Ryder, with another great-great-grandchild due in September. Carol was preceded in death by her children: Michael Prather, Cathy Kostelic, and Chrissy Foley; her sons-in-law: Richard Roberts, Fred Reebel, and Greg Foley; and grandsons, Robbie Schell, Kevin, and Danny Goehring. She was also preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Howard Weber. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Tammy and Amanda with Patriot Hospice for their compassionate care. May Carol's memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. Family to receive friends from 3:00 - 6:00 pm on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Cremation & Funeral Service by Gary S.
