Dale Sheeler Obituary

Dale Edward Sheeler, 76, but ask him and he would say 63, he had a great sense of humor, passed away Friday evening, January 3, 2025, at East Liverpool Hospital. Dale was born on June 14, 1948, Flag Day (when he was little he thought they were flying the flags for him) in New Brighton, PA. Son of Earl and Margaret (Beitler) Sheeler. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Nancy Pykare Sheeler; sister, Janet Costarell; nephew Daniel Costarell, Matt (Selena) Costarell; sister-in-law, Gail Jirak; nephews, Erik Houser and Niki (Christina) Jirak; sister-in-law, Linda Dickson; nieces, Dayna (Dan) Owens, Amanda (Bob) Douglass; nephews, Rob (Jada) Douglass, Justin Dickson; brother-in-law, Ed (Mary) Pykare; and nephew, Scott Pykare. He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Margaret Sheeler, a brother David Sheeler, and brother-in-law Dan Costarell. He was a graduate of 1966 East Palestine High School. While still in school he spent many hours in his Ministry work which he always wanted to do, till the day he died and Dale felt it was the most important thing he could ever do with his life, in teaching people what hope the Bible holds out for each of us, a world with righteous people and sin and death being gone Psalm 37:10,11. A Paradise as Jehovah intended it to be. He did this at first without a car, afterwards, he would ride his bike up to his cousins' farm to take care of and ride his horses and spend time with his cousins. He fondly remembered when his cousin Paul Powers lived in Darlington and after the polo game on Friday night would ride and take the polo horses back to the stables, hearing the clip-clop of the horses in the dark moist air. He worked at Flay Beverage, and then Loyal Standard needed someone to help him in his electrical business, he worked with Loyal for a while and then Loyal moved and Dale decided to become an electrician and start Sheeler Electric along with his lifelong partner, Nancy, that was 52 years ago. It was something they really enjoyed. He met his teammate the former Nancy Pykare, she first noticed his 1970 Cutlass convertible and he noticed her, and they were married on October 4, 1975. Then the adventure began, working together, playing tennis, golfing, kayaking, camping, skiing, bicycling, and hiking with friends and family. Dale's friends took him golfing often, East Palestine Country Club and Beaver Creek Meadows, they were so nice and understanding of Dale. I can't tell you all enough how much I appreciate your kindness to him. He never stopped, we traveled, friends knew our favorite places to go, and we went to Bible-based conventions and went to the New Springfield Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and then the East Palestine Kingdom Hall where he had lifelong friends. He had a special friend in John Lansdowne who would take him walking. It helped him in so many ways. Dale was a handful the last few years but still had a love for his God and for people. I keep hearing how people know him as a kind loving man. His friends and family will miss him dearly but we have a hope Revelation 21:3,4 when we will see him again, not ill like he was, but a smiling, healthy man. There will be no Memorial Service for Dale. Please know I appreciate all your thoughts, prayers, cards, texts, and phone calls. Arrangements by Cremation and Funeral Service by Gary S.
