Jean Gintert Obituary

Jean Marie Brazin Gintert, 94 of Braceville passed away peacefully Wednesday evening January 15, 2025 at her home. She was born on May 25, 1930 in Warren, Ohio the daughter of the late Paul P. and Grace M. (Bringo) Brazin. Jean married the love of her life, Lloyd Clark Gintert on May 12, 1951, they enjoyed 67 years of marriage together until his passing in February 2019. Jean lived in Newton Falls until marrying Lloyd and made Braceville their home for over 70 years. After graduating from Newton Falls High School in 1947, Jean went to work for several years at Copperweld Steel in Warren, eventually leaving to become a homemaker and start a family. Jean was a devoted Catholic and member of St Mary & St Joseph Parish. Faith and family meant everything, her greatest passion and strength was her unconditional love for her family. Jean was a member of the Child Conservation League (CCL) for over 20 years and held multiple positions including chapter president. She was an avid bowler at Laurel Lanes and golfer at Riverview Golf Club. Jean and Lloyd belonged to several dance clubs, the Rainbow Riders and VFW in Warren and were members of the Lake Milton Yacht Club for over ten years. They enjoyed many years of camping with their family at Ridge Ranch, Berlin Lake Campground, family camping vacations to Canada, and the Outer Banks of NC and several cruises with friends and family. While raising her family, Jean was a seamstress and sewed for JoAnn Fabrics for 10 years, displaying her clothes in the store window displays. After Lloyd's retirement, Jean took her hobby of decorating ceramics and porcelain and transitioned into a business in 1983, "JG Porcelains", selling their products in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, New York, Michigan, and Pennsylvania at Malls and craft shows. Jean and Lloyd spent the next 30 years working together in their business. They enjoyed traveling, visiting several casinos and made many friends through their business adventures and travels. Jean is preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd, siblings Grace Barbara Jakenta, Stella Agnes Peters and Charles Paul Brazin. She is survived by her daughter Janice (Timothy) Gibson of Braceville, sons, Marty (Carolyn) Gintert of Rotonda West, Florida, Randy Gintert of Braceville, Rory Gintert of Hartland, Wisconsin, 9 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Calling hours and service will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Friday, January 24. Calling hours from 10:00 - 12:00 pm. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 pm at the funeral home with Father David Merzweiler officiating. Jean will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in Paris Township.
