Jeffrey Barker Obituary
Jeffrey Robert Barker, known affectionately as Jeff to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025, at the age of 73, in Youngstown, Ohio, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on October 22, 1951, in Warren, Ohio, Jeff was a devoted son to his late parents, Betty J. and Robert W. Barker. His legacy of love and kindness is a testament to a life well-lived and well-loved.
Jeff is survived by his cherished wife of over 52 years, Wilma L. Shaver Barker , with whom he shared a lifetime of memories since their marriage on March 15, 1973. Together, they built a family founded on the principles of love, support, and integrity. He was a proud father to his son, Thomas R. Barker, and his daughter, Michelle M. Barker, who both inherited their father's strength and compassion. Jeff's warmth and wisdom will forever be remembered by his granddaughter, Victoria A. Springer (Roger), and his adoring great-granddaughters, Noelle, Nataline, and Nichole. His sister, Kathleen A. Buranich, and brother, Terry J. Barker, will miss his guidance and the laughter they shared.
A 1970 graduate of Braceville High School, Jeff was a man of great intelligence and work ethic. He dedicated over 30 years of service to Denman Tire, where he was not only a respected employee but also a friend to many. His colleagues will remember him for his reliability and the care he took in his work.
Jeff's passion for sports was undeniable. He was an enthusiastic fan of the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, and the Ohio State Buckeyes, reveling in the camaraderie and excitement that came with each game. His love for sports was only matched by the joy he found in spending time with his great-granddaughters, whose youthful energy brought him immense happiness.
Those who knew Jeff would describe him as a loving, thoughtful, and handy man. His ability to fix anything was paralleled only by his capacity to offer a kind word or a helping hand. Jeff's presence was a comfort to all, and his absence will be felt deeply by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jeff's life was one of purpose and pleasure. He found joy in the simplicity of daily life, whether it was playing on his computer or enjoying the quiet moments at home. His influence on those around him was profound, and the values he instilled in his family will continue to guide them.
As we say goodbye to Jeffrey Robert Barker, we are reminded of the beauty of a life filled with love and the enduring impact of a kind and generous spirit. Jeff's memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have been touched by his grace.
Jeff's family takes comfort in knowing that he led a fulfilling life, marked by the love he gave and received. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a remarkable man who made the world a better place simply by being in it. Jeff's laughter, wisdom, and gentle nature will be cherished in stories told and memories shared by all who knew him. Rest in peace, dear Jeffrey, until we meet again.
