Kathleen Rapone Obituary

Struthers – Kathleen Marie "Kay" Rapone, 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 3, 2025. Kay was born Feb. 12, 1934, in Struthers, the daughter of Michael and Sue Vanik. She married the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Rapone on June 14, 1952. They were married for 62 years until his passing in 2014. Kay was of the Catholic faith. She was a homemaker to her seven children. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cross-stitching, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She is survived by six children, Linda Rhoads, Debbie Castor, Cheryl (John) Novak, Eugene Rapone, David (Dee Dee) Rapone, and Bobby Rapone (Marcy DelSignore); 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia (Frank) Modarelli; brother, Bob (Joann) Vanik; sisters-in-law, Lillian Guerrieri, and Norma Mascio; and many loving nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son, Richard Rapone; three grandsons, Geno and Angelo Rapone, and Joey Schuler; and son-in-law, Nicky Castor. Private services were held. The Rapone family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Maplecrest Skilled Nursing Home for the kind and compassionate care shown to Kay. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman. Family and friends are encouraged to offer prayers for the family and support via phone call, text, email or may visit the Book of Memories at www.rossifunerals.com.
