Shirlene Wood

Shirlene Wood age 82 of Braceville passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday morning April 30, 2023 at St. Joseph Eastland Hospital in Warren. She was born on March 11, 1941 in Jenkins, KY the daughter of the late Cody Mullins and Lula (Youngblood) Mullins. Shirlene graduated from Jenkins High School in the Class of 1959. She then went on to Kent State University and earned her Associates Degree in Business Management. Shirlene married the love of her life, William Ray Wood on March 10, 1963, and they enjoyed the past 56 years of marriage until he passed away on June 12, 2019. They have lived in Braceville for over 34 years, formerly of Rootstown, OH. Shirlene was a faithful and longtime member of the First Assembly of the Pentecost Church in Braceville where she was a Sunday School Teacher, Youth Leader, and sang in the Choir. She enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, and being active at her church. Shirlene is preceded in death by her parents, her husband William, 1 sister: Shelia Marie Adams, and 3 brothers: Dairl Dean, Johnny Ray, and Roger Lee Mullins. She is survived by: 2 daughters: Tammy McCabe of Braceville, Denita Fuller of Braceville, 1 sister: Josephine Crace of Jenkins, KY, 2 brothers: Bobby & Linda Mullins of Jenkins, KY, Wendell & Sherry Mullins of Jenkins, KY, 3 grandchildren: Charles, Benjamin, Jesse, and 2 great granddaughters: Azelya, and Aaliyah. Funeral services will be at the First Assembly of the Pentecost in Braceville on Saturday May 6, 2023 at 1:00pm with Pastor William McCartney officiating. Calling hours will be from 11:00am - 1:00pm.
