Laurie Van Riper was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother to many. She left this world suddenly on November 9th, 2021 at the age of 73 in the peace of her own home. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Josephine Walter; brothers, William and Robert; and son, Eric. Laurie is survived by husband, Vern; brother, Ken; children, Staci, Sara and Sam; and grandchildren, Allie, Tommy, Alaina, John, Emma, Christopher, Matthew, Katelynn.
Laurie was born on November 16th of 1947. She was raised in Clatskanie, making Oregon home for the entirety of her life. She graduated with a degree in education, serving the population of southern Oregon for many years as an educator spanning all age ranges. She loved cooking, sewing, quilting, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held in Laurie's memory on November 20th, 2021 at Heritage Christian Fellowship, 943 Automation Way Suite, A, Medford, Oregon.
In honor of Laurie, flowers can be sent to 711 Isherwood Drive, Central Point, OR.
