David Shaw Obituary

David John Shaw
1954 - 2015
RANDOLPH - It is with great sadness that the family of David John Shaw announces his passing on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 60 years.
A loving family man, David will be forever remembered by his wife Pamela; and his children, Rebecca and James (Leena); and by his sisters Deborah (Robert), Diane (James), and Gayle. Dave will also be fondly remembered by his stepsons, Ryan and Jeff; stepmother Elizabeth; mother-in-law Syrena; brother-in-law Wayne (Joyce); and his numerous nieces, nephews; extended family; and dear friends.
Born in Amesbury, Mass., on April 22, 1954, David was a 1972 graduate of Winnacunnet High School in Hampton, N.H. He attended the University of Maine in Augusta with a degree in Criminal Justice.
David was a member of the Highland Avenue United Methodist Church of Gardiner and the successful business owner of Dashco Distributors, retiring in 2013.
With a deep respect for nature, Dave was an avid outdoorsman with a great passion for fishing and hunting, boating and hiking, snowboarding, snowshoeing and snorkeling. With his family and friends he enjoyed the time spent at their camp in Starks, on the coast at Boothbay Harbor, and vacationing in Florida. He also enjoyed his dogs Bruno, Shannon, Cuffs, and most recently Dakota.
David was predeceased by his parents John Edward and Janet Elaine Davis; stepfather Richard Davis; and father-in-law Carroll Flagg.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, March 31, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner. A celebration of David's life will take place on Wednesday, April 1, at 10 a.m. at the Highland Avenue United Methodist Church of Gardiner. Interment services will be at Mt. Prospect Cemetery, 202 Elm St., Amesbury, Mass.
