Dona Soiett Obituary

WEST GARDINER -- Dona M. "Mike" Soiett, 80, of Hallowell-Litchfield Road, West Gardiner, passed away Aug. 13, 2010.

She was born in Fairfield on March 7, 1930, the daughter of John J. and Izetta (Sanderson) Lavoie.

Mike married Donald T. Soiett on June 20, 1949, and they raised their family in West Gardiner. She loved making quilts, having a huge garden, home canning and taking care of her farm animals.

She is survived by her children, Dana and his wife, Debbie, of Orange, Texas, Diane Marcotte and her husband, George, Dan and his companion, Debbie, Dawn Sevigny and her husband, Bruce, Darren and his wife, Denise, all of West Gardiner, and Jeromy, of Winslow; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and special nephew Dennis Lavoie and his wife, Joan, of Pittston.

She was predeceased by her husband, Donald T. Soiett; her brothers, Edmond, Carl and J.Winston "Putt" Lavoie; and sisters Wilma Peters and Elloween "Pat" Piper.

A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer's Unit at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care at Glenridge in Augusta.
