James Wrigley Obituary

James Alan Wrigley
1967 - 2015
OAKLAND - James Alan Wrigley passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 23, 2015. James was born on April 9, 1967, in Waterville. He grew up in Oakland and attended Oakland schools, graduating from Messalonskee High School, class of 1985.
After working in the woods for a few years, he went into well drilling with James Philbrick, and then spent several years with Yankee Well Drilling before deciding to branch out on his own. He owned and operated James Wrigley Well Drilling for many years. On rare occasions when he wasn't drilling, James would most likely be helping friends out of a jam. He was a jack of all trades and had mastered many of them. From houses to pieces of machinery, if he had an image in his mind of what the solution to a problem was, he could build it from scratch, but don't look for a blueprint.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Stevens; and young daughters, Olivia Jayne Wrigley and Miranda Marie Wrigley, his grown children, Jamie Lee Gill and husband, Jake, Stephanie Dawn Wrigley and granddaughter, Alyssa Cassadee Wrigley, and Caleb James Wrigley and fiancé, Noelle; his parents, Dana and Marie Wrigley; brother Dana Wrigley Jr.; aunts Cheryl Levine and husband, Richard, Betty Pierce and husband, Tom, Brenda York, Bonnie Willette and husband, John, Elaine York, and Lynn Benedict and husband, Bob; many cousins on both sides of the family; mother-in-law, Nancy Duplessie; and brothers-in-law, Shawn Stevens and wife, Denise, and Barry Duplessie.
James was predeceased by his aunts, Alice Wrigley and Beverly Wrigley, and uncles, Stanley Wrigley and Glenwood Murray.
Visitation will be Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at New Beginnings Church on Upper Main Street in Waterville, at 10 a.m., followed by the service at 11 a.m. A fellowship luncheon will follow. Arrangements are by Lawry Brothers-Wheeler, 26 Church Street, Oakland. An online guestbook may be signed and memories shared at

Seems like a great father that provided for his family. That is the greatest thing a man can be on this earth, a loving father and husband. I graduated with his daughter Jamie and he definitely did a great job raising her. Prayers for the entire family.
