MANCHESTER -- Nancy Leigh Webber, age 47 of Readfield Road and formerly of the Pond Road passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, as the result of colon cancer at her home with her family by her side.

She was born in Augusta on Aug. 29, 1959, a daughter of the late Robert P. and Anna (Atwood) Webber.

Nancy attended local schools, graduating from Maranacook High School in 1979.

Nancy loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. She loved the ocean and, most of all, her beloved Cobbossee Lake, where she lived most of her life. Nancy loved doing crossword puzzles, word finds and jigsaw puzzles.

She loved the outdoors. She swam, hiked, snowshoed and loved working in the garden. She bowled for years with the Wednesday Morning Team.

She also played bingo at the Calumet Club. Nancy was part of the Uplift Program for four years and was chosen "Person of the Year" in 2006.

She volunteered at the American Lung Association and Senior Spectrum at the Cohen Center. She was also an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.

Nancy loved animals and will be sorely missed by Sadie her chihuahua.

At this time, the family would like to thank PROTEA and HealthReach Hospice, especially Deb and Mary and, special friends Betty West, Tina Blanchard, Geri Havey and Carole Kallock. Nancy is survived by her sister, Susan A. Webber and her life partner Francine McEwen, with whom she lived, and a brother, Robert P. Webber, Jr. and his fiancée, Tina Gerard, all of Manchester; a special nephew, Robert P. Webber III, whom she adored, and his mother, Marlene of Augusta; and two cousins, Linda Hinkley Violette and Ann Webber.

Susan & Bobby,

I was saddened to hear of Nancy's passing.

I will always remember the gleam in her eyes and her infectious smile each time I would visit at the lake.

Susan and Bobby,
I was so sorry to hear about Nancy. I can't remember a time that she wasn't a part of my life growing up. Our families have made wonderful memories. She always put a smile on my face and was loved by us all.....Our love and prayers to you both. Nancy

Susan & Bobby...I'm so very sorry to hear about Nancy. Your family was so much a part of my growing up in Manchester during the 60's & 70's, that it feels like I've lost a close relative. Your family's commitment to Nancy during her life is to be commended, and, because of that, she had a full, productive and, very likely, a happy life. Nancy herself was loving, honest and open, with a great zest for life and a sense of humor very much like her mom and dad. She always greeted me with such warmness and an attitude that said "gee, I'm really glad to see you again"!!! I will always think of her, and the rest of your family, each time I return to Cobbosee and gaze across the cove toward where you all used to live. I would be there, in person, for her service but I am in Florida until Monday, Feb. 5th. I will be there in spirit. My best to you all....Skip Whitmore

Nancy had such a funny and loving personality, she liked to have fun. I was blessed to have known such a great person for such a short time and this was at her visits to the clinic at MGMC. I will miss her dearly. God Bless.

Nancy was areal person who made everyone smile. We didn't see her much after her mother passed but she, along with her mother were and won't be forgotten. My sympathies to Sue.

Nancy was my special friend too. We spend many hours talking about life and how it evolves and touches each of us in various ways. She had a great sense of humor and was able to get even the groucy to smile. I loved Nancy very much and will hold dear the memories I have with her.

Nancy was very special to us. We did not know her very long, but Wendell and I was on her bowling team on Wednesday mornings for the past three years, and we loved her. We wish to express our deepest sympathy to all of her family.
