1957 – 2015
WEST FORKS - Ronald G. Berry, 57, of West Forks died Oct. 27, 2015 under the Hunter's Moon at Maine Medical Center in Portland surrounded by his loved ones. He was born Dec. 18, 1957 in Jackman to Guy C. and Francine (Bridges) Berry. Ron grew up in the West Forks, attended schools in West Forks and Bingham, graduating from Valley High School with the class of 1976. Ronnie was a unique man known and loved by many people. An avid outdoorsman and Master Guide, he is remembered by family and friends as hunting, fishing and guiding in the local area. Ronnie touched the lives of everyone who met him. He was kind-hearted, generous, fun and easy-going. With his free-spirited ways, he lived life to the fullest. He is dearly missed by all.
He was predeceased by his father; his brothers, Michael and Jeffrey Berry; and nephew Dustin Berry. He is survived by his daughter, Gwynne Berry; his grandchildren, Isaiah, Leila and Zech Dunphy; his mother, Francine Berry and her companion Felix Quirion; his siblings, Linda Robinson and her husband Paul, Gordon Berry and his wife Carol, and Darlene Berry; nieces and nephews, Brandon Berry, Gordon Berry Jr., Darcy Berry, Lori Robinson, Garnett Robinson, Brian Berry, Jimmie Robinson, Michelle Thayer, Bobby Robinson, Michael Berry and Tasha Robinson; his former wife Elizabeth King; his aunts Priscilla Bridges, and Marlene Gourde, uncle Butch Bridges; many cousins; long time best friends, Charlie Hathaway, George Poland, Carney White and Pat King, many other dear friends; and his dog, Finn.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 3, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Solon with Pastor Curtiss Kanagy officiating. Arrangements are under the care & direction of Giberson Funeral Home, 18 River St., Bingham.

We were friends for a long time. On one of our earlier times together we took two of the top prizes at a Martin Pond fishing derby. Ronnie got the largest fish, a Rainbow over three pounds, and I got the largest Brook Trout at about two and a half pounds. We were doing our traveling in those days on stingray bikes and we had a good ride to Webb's to see what we had won. It was a good day! Sorry, I had to throw a story in. There were many! To me Ronnie was and will remain as much a part of the West Forks as Durgin Hill is. Our condolences to the Berry Family and friends.

I am sad to hear about Ronnie's death. Some of the best memories from my past are the times I spent with Ronnie, Mike and Carol.
I will always remember him as a sweet, lively, adventurous fun kid with a good heart.

Dear Gordon, Family and Friends,
The Brown family wishes to express our sympathy for the passing of Ronnie. I will always be grateful to Ronnie for rescuing me once after I hopelessly got a snowmobile stuck in the snow many years ago. We are glad to have known him. I hunted with Ron years ago. He was a good hunter and you could not find a better friend. I just asked about him a couple of weeks ago and was looking forward to seeing him again after these many years. RIP Ron.

Well Ron, yet another long time friend to say goodbye to. when we moved to Durgin Hill from P.A. , it was always the Berry's and the Heberts. Through the years you lived with Lloyd and I, and when you didn't, you were always there. Many memories there are. Will miss yet another member whom was considered Family.
