Doris Perkins Obituary

Doris May Perkins
     SCARBOROUGH -- Doris May Perkins, a long time resident of Scarborough, passed away at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough on Oct. 4, 2007.
     She was born on July 13, 1927 in Portland, the daughter of Almon and Bertha Dunham and attended Portland Schools. She worked at Maine Egg Producers and as a waitress at the Portland Jetport.
     Doris is predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Donald E. Perkins; and a brother, Edgar Dunham. Doris and Don were married on March 10, 1945. They enjoyed camping and spent winters in Sarasota Fla. Later in life she enjoyed line dancing and playing cards with her sisters and friends.
     Doris is survived by her two children, Donna Marie Paynter of Buxton, and Darrel Eugene Perkins of Owls Head; a brother John Dunham; and her two sisters, Corabelle Meserve and Innez Kierstead. She enjoyed her four grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.
     Please join us in celebrating her life at Hobbs Funeral Home. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, Oct. 7 from 2-4 p.m. and a funeral service on Monday, Oct. 8, at 10 a.m.
    In lieu of flowers, contributions in Doris' name may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Donna and Darryl,

I wish to express my sorrow at the passing of your mother. She was a kind,thoughtful, and talented person. I remember many times as a child going to your house in So Portland and Scarboro and our
parents playing cards or your mother playing the piano.

She will be missed.
