Justin Stanhope Obituary
FREEPORT -- Justin Donald Stanhope, 22, of Freeport, died unexpectedly on Monday, March 25, 2013.
He was born on April 16, 1990, in Portland, the son of Tina (Iatesta) and Stephen Stanhope. Justin grew-up in Naples before moving to Freeport.
As a youngster Justin showed a talent for art. He also played the saxophone and simply enjoyed music with a good beat. Justin and his father have fond memories of father/son fishing derbies. In later years they enjoyed spending time together working on cars. Justin typically started his day by listening to the morning program, 'Free Beer and Hot Wings.' Justin was a technology expert and computers were a great part of his life.
Justin will be remembered for his big, generous and protective heart. He had a gentle and 'innocent' spirit that followed him into adulthood. He loved people and all who came into his life with an openness that will be greatly missed. He also had a special place for animals, beginning with his first dog, a beagle by the name of Sally. As time went on many strays found a home with him and they would each have one of two names - Justin or Justine.
Justin is survived by his mother, Tina Menezes and her husband Robert of Naples, his father, Stephen Stanhope and his wife Tammy of Freeport; his brother, Alexander Menezes of Naples; his stepbrother, Eric Cross of Brunswick; his fiancee, Heather Libby of Freeport; his maternal grandmother, 'Grammie' Sue Iatesta and 'Sophie' of Gorham; his paternal grandmother, 'Nene' Nedra Stanhope of Freeport, his grandmother, Laura Menezes of Windham; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles; cousins and friends.

Tina, Rob, Alex and family~
I had the pleasure of meeting Justin again a year or two ago at Staples in Windham. Even though I hadn't seen him since he was young, there was no mistaking he was Tina's Justin. He had her bright eyes, big beautiful smile and warm personality. I introduced myself and we chatted for a bit. I was impressed by his wit and charm. I just couldn't believe he was all grown up.
I pray that you may find some comfort and peace knowing that tonight Justin is being held safely and lovingly in the arms of The Lord, and that one day you will be together again.
