Patricia Sutherland Obituary

Patricia Jane Mains Sutherland, 62
DURHAM - Patricia Sutherland, 62, of Durham, died April 11, 2017, in Durham. Born on March 24, 1955, to Mavis and Ed Mains, she was known as Pat Mains, Patty Moon, PJ Tuller, and later PJ Sutherland. She had many chapters to her life.
All throughout her life she was a very hard worker. Primarily in the food services field, she started young, waitressing at the age of 14 at Maine Turnpike Mile 56 Howard Johnson Restaurant.
Life brought her to the Bangor area in 1983, where she later opened her own hair and tanning salon called "PJ's Hair House." PJ and her second husband, ET Tuller, enjoyed running their own DJ service for several years. After ET passed in 1996, PJ went to work bartending and waitressing at the West Side in Bangor. Several years later, she began working at Leadbetter's Super Stop on Hammond Street in Bangor. There she was very proud of her position in the kitchen, where she took her job very seriously. PJ made many friends in her 10 years at Leadbetter's, both coworkers and patrons.
Some of the highlights of her life were trips she took with family and friends. Travels took Patty to Vermont, Myrtle Beach, and Dominican Republic.
But her most cherished trips were those her brother Dana gave her the opportunity to enjoy along with their mother, Mavis, going to Las Vegas and the Caribbean. She also enjoyed her annual weeklong trip to the Samoset Resort in Rockland with her dear (late) friend, Helen Jacobs.
Patty was a wonderful mother and grandmother, always baking for her family and friends.
She leaves behind her daughter Lisa, her husband Jeremy Arsenault, and their two sons, Gage and Cody, with whom she has resided since falling in September 2015; son Mark Moon, his wife Hayley, and their two children, Madi and Mason; and son Bob Moon, wife Mandy, and their children, Hunter, Hayden and Autumn.
Patty has four siblings, Eddie Mains, Dana Mains, Tammy Fardon, and Dale Mains. Pat is going to be greatly missed by her cousin and best friend, Sandy Nash. PJ also leaves behind former husband and friend 'til the end, Richard Sutherland, and his family.
