Missing the social interaction she was unable to stay retired and returned to the workforce for Shaw's Supermarket eventually retiring in 2002.
Ruth's family was of great importance to her. She raised six children but also took care of many other family members in their time of need. When she wasn't caring for family she loved to bowl. She had a fierce competitive streak whether it be bowling with her grandchildren or in tournaments. She competed in many Maine senior games as well as national tournaments with a pile of medals to show her accomplishments. She bowled her last tournament in June of 2008. Ruth and her husband also enjoyed traveling in their RV. They proudly displayed all the states they had been to on the side of their RV.

April 15, 2010

Sunset and evening star
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,

But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.

Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;

For though from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crossed the bar.

You will be missed Gram...

Very sorry to hear of Aunt Ruth's passing, she was a very loving and sweet women, will miss her greatly. When my husband and I visited Maine many years ago she was very grecious to us and treated us to dinner and then went back to her home to visit. She came to Louisiana years later with her bowling team and we were able to treat her to dinner and visit. Sorry I didn't get a chance to visit with her again..
