Hazel Iverson Obituary

Hazel (Danny) Iverson Departed this life and went to Heaven on September 14, 2012. She was born on January 7, 1923 in San Jose, CA to Swedish immigrants Victor and Ellen Daniels. While Hazel was young, the family moved to Salinas, CA where she attended elementary school, Salinas High School and Hartnell College. In 1943, Hazel married Harold (Hal) Iverson who gave her the nickname, Danny. Hal and Danny had four children, and in 1963 left their beloved Salinas for a life in San Anselmo, CA. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She loved cooking, gardening, sewing and making handcrafts. Danny maintained a beautiful home, and enjoyed hosting family gatherings and having friends over for tea. Spending time with her family in Twain Harte and travelling through Europe were highlights in her life. One of Danny's passions was choral music. She had a beautiful alto voice and sang with the Presbyterian Churches in Salinas and Sleepy Hollow as well as the Winifred Baker Chorale. Danny is survived by her husband of 69 years, Hal. She was preceded in death by her son, Eric and son-in-law, Terry. The following family members will miss her greatly: Kaaren, Stephen, Jeffrey, Narda, Charlotte, Scott, Brian, Dylan, Holden, Dayna, Kerri, Dana, Nolan, Brock, Leah, and Cora. A memorial service for Danny will be held at the Sleepy Hollow Presbyterian Church, 100 Tarry Road, San Anselmo, CA 94960 on Sunday, October 14 at 3:00 p.m. Donations, in her honor, may be sent to the Sleepy Hollow Presbyterian Church. "In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you." John 14:2
