Dear Cindy and Adair,
I don't know if you can still receive notices from this site but I hope so. I just found out about Shawn's death yesterday. I met Shawn when he started high school at Oceana. We were in band and jazz band together. Those of us involved in the music dep't became like a family. Shawn was like a favorite brother to us. I didn't have the privilege of growing up with him like many of our class/band mates did. The news of his death is a hard blow to us. I can only imagine how difficult it has been for both of you the past two years. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you now and he was loved and will be remembered by all of us. We had been trying to locate him for music dep't reunions with no luck. Not only was he a good basketball player but he could play a mean horn! If you ever want to share remembrances I can be located thru Facebook. Much love to you, Suzanne Henry Powers Evans

Shawn brought great joy, happiness and laughter to any and all whom crossed his path, his loss to his friends, family and all whom loved him is great. If you had a bond with Shawn it was forever and there was nothing his kind and generous heart wouldn't do for you. Shawn shared his heart and all his worldly possessions, with all just because? His stories were the best and will forever be missed. Fishing was his passion in life and brought him great joy...the friends, the outdoors, the solitude...Shawn could light up a room by just being there, he lived his life at full throttle, as we have all know.
Remember to cherish the memories for now they are all we have and continue to share the "SHAWN STORIES"
Blessed are all of us whom had the pleasure of knowing him and loving him.

Cindy, I previously worked with Shawn for a short while on the Electric Bill Crew and rafting. I'm stunned and sobered by his sudden passing.I remember his upbeat character on the jobsites well. Strange it seems, though we never became acquainted outside of work, for some reason I've thought of him often in the years gone by, as though we should or could have been? My loss! This is not a dress rehearsal so why not make each day your Masterpeace!! paulie

Dear Cindy & Adair,
I am very sorry for your loss. Your father/husband was the type of person who affected so many others and he hardly even knew it. I am one of his basketball friends and he is sorely missed by all of the YMCA gang. Shawn had the special and rare ability to light up the room just by entering, I and many others will always be grateful and enriched for the privilege knowing him. You are in my family’s prayers

I was both shocked and saddened to hear of Shawn's passing. He will be missed by those of us who knew him and enjoyed his humor and company. I'm really sorry I didn't get the chance to fish with him up at Fall River. Maybe in another life. God Bless and comfort all.

Fishing is more than holding a rod in your hand. It is a bond between the rod holder and Mother Earth, as well as our fellow fisherman - a Brotherhood. Whether it is for sport or for survival, it is a bond that can rarely be explained or broken. It simply has to be experienced for one's self.
This was Shawns life and he loved it!
