FRANKLIN EDWARD THACKER
Franklin Edward Thacker, 72, of West Portsmouth, died Sunday, June 22, 2014 at his home. He was born February 27, 1942 in West Portsmouth to the late Oscar and Helen Robbins Thacker. He was a retired from Ferrell Gas Company and was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was also a former Deputy Sheriff and former Deputy Forest Fire Warden. Along with his parents Frank was preceded in death by his first wife Alice Thacker and a sister Janet Payton.
Frank is survived by his loving wife Bobbie, 4 children; Susie (Dan) Stanley of Portsmouth, Mark (Samantha) Thacker of West Portsmouth and Terry Thacker of West Portsmouth and Mary Kay Thacker at home, 7 brothers and sisters; Gary (Mary) Thacker of West Portsmouth, Pam (David) Lester of West Portsmouth, Linda (George) Blom of Westland, MI, Harold (Julie) Thacker of Chaplain, KY, Tom (Tammy) Thacker of McDermott, Phyllis Moore of Grayson, KY, and Jane (Terry) Yates of Mount Eden, KY, 5 grandchildren; Daniel, Brittany, and Ruthie Stanley, Kim (Dan) Spires, and Bunny.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday June 25, 2014 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Rick Ratliff officiating. Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park with graveside military rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8:00pm on Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. The family would like to thank SOMC Hospice for their wonderful care. I have shared many happy childhood memories with the Thacker family. Our families share relatives and at times we seemed to be joined at the hips. I was very sorry to see of Franks death. I do not subscribe to the paper and am sorry to have missed this news please accept my deepest sympathies.

Have had the pleasure knowing him thru dialysis the last two years. Never complained. So proud of his family. Will miss him.
