Sara Delleney Obituary

Sara Lynne Delleney Living by the words of Proverbs 3:5-6, Sara Lynne Delleney walked through life with unwavering faith, trusting God's wisdom over her own and finding peace in letting Him guide her path. On the evening of February 19, 2025, Jesus called His daughter home, and she is now fully alive in the joyful presence of her Savior. Sara Lynne was born on September 26, 1952, in Marlin, Texas, to Robert and Colette Martin Davis. She graduated from Marlin High School in 1971 and later earned a BA in Biblical Studies and Theology, graduating with honors. On August 7, 1971, she married Dan Delleney, the love of her life. Together, they raised two children, Jason and Nikki, and later embraced the joy of being grandparents to Ava and Claire, who lovingly call them Nanny and Papa. Dan and Sara Lynne shared 53 wonderful years of marriage, cherishing time with their family and serving in ministry together. Sara Lynne's passion for teaching led her to serve in various roles, from preschool to Sunday School to informal dinner table discussions, impacting many lives with the powerful Gospel of Jesus Christ. Known for her sparkling blue eyes and infectious laughter, Sara Lynne embodied strength and dignity (Proverbs 31:25). She was always kind, encouraging, and sought to bring peace and unity to relationships. Rooted in the heritage of faith from her mother and grandparents, she loved Jesus with her whole heart and eagerly served as His hands and feet to bring heaven to earth. She and Dan were faithful members of City Reach Church in Cedar Park, where they enjoyed their motorcycle small group, the Reach Riders-a source of joy, fellowship, and just a little concern for their children! All who knew Sara Lynne Delleney can take comfort in the words of Jesus: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him (John 3:16-17)." She was preceded in death by her parents, Colette and Robert Davis; her in-laws, Rupert and Vivian Delleney; her sister and brother-in-law Freda and Mac McLaurin; her brother Robert (Bobby) Davis; and her brother in-law, Dean Delleney, and sister in-law, Donna Delleney Ballard. Sara Lynne is survived by her adoring husband, Dan Delleney of Georgetown, Texas; her son Jason Delleney of Georgetown; her daughter and son-in-law, Nikki and Matt Morris, and beloved granddaughters Ava and Claire Morris, all of Cedar Park; her brother and sister-in-law, Reggie and Connie Davis of Houston; her sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Ron Franklin of Allen. Sara Lynne will also be missed by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Candy Delleney of Tyler; Tom Ballard of Cedar Park; Deby and Rick Steinburg of San Marcos; and Dell and Larry Fraze of Charlestown, Indiana; as well as two generations of loving nieces and nephews and her cherished fur babies, Miss Annie and Sammy.
