Charles Cook Obituary

Charles LeRoy Cook, 77 of Granbury, Tx. went to go be with our Lord and Savior on Dec. 21, 2023, just in time to make the birthday party for Jesus Christ.

A memorial will be held at a later time in Branson, Mo. LeRoy was born on April 23, 1946, in Niangua, Mo. He was the eldest child of Rufus and Mary Lou Cook and was raised on a small family farm along with his 2 brothers and 4 sisters in Marshfield Mo. In Dec. of 1964 he was set up on a blind date and met the love of his life Virginia Bounds. They shared a 58-year marriage and raised 2 children, Katherine and Charles.

LeRoy and Ginger left Marshfield in 1982 and moved to Crane, Texas where he worked for Arco until he retired in 1999. After retirement they traveled to 46 of the 50 states with friends and family until they settled in Granbury, Tx.

LeRoy enjoyed reading and watching old westerns, anything sci-fi, documentaries on astronomy, space, and ancient civilizations. He was a jack of all trades, built his house, fixed the vehicles, plumber, electrician, even owned and operated a TV repair shop for a time. He enjoyed various woodworking crafts and fishing. He is preceded in death by his father Rufus Cook, mother Mary Lou Cook, brother Ron Cook, and brother Bill Cook.

He is survived by his wife Ginger Cook of Granbury, Tx. his daughter Kathy Carrasco and her husband Alonzo of Burleson, Tx. his son Charles Cook and his wife Sherri of Ville Platte, La. He is survived by his sisters Doris Letterman and husband Ronnie of Marshfield, Mo. Linda Cook of Marshfield, Mo. Deb Atteberry and husband Randy of Marshfield, Mo. Lisa Cook of Marshfield, Mo. Sister-in-Laws Greta Cook of Marshfield, Mo. Janie Cook of Crane, Tx. He is also survived by his grandchildren Alonzo Lewis Carrasco of San Angelo, Tx. Barrett Carrasco of San Angelo, Tx. John Cook of Ruston, La. Brie of Lafayette, La. Raina Strickland of Russellville, Al. Payton & Kaitlin Strickland of Pineville, La. Great-Grand Kids Ryland Carrasco, Layla & Payton Strickland. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
