David Weaver Obituary

David ("Dave") Weaver, 63, of Allentown passed away in his home on March 13, 2022 after battling cancer. He was a graduate of Salisbury High School ('77), Allentown College ('85), and Lehigh University ('02).

In addition to owning and operating his own tax preparation business for many years, Dave also worked as an accountant for numerous firms, taught in elementary school classrooms for a short time, and held other miscellaneous jobs. His greatest passion, however, was the world of art, particularly bonsai trees. Dave spent countless hours meticulously crafting living specimens into unique works. He also enjoyed painting in various styles and appreciated all forms of creative expression, from music, books, film, and everything else.

Dave is survived by brothers Mark (Angela) and Bruce, both of Allentown; sons Nathan (Whitnie) of Coatesville, PA and Noah of Coopersburg; daughter Vanessa (Justin) Rich of Okinawa, Japan; and five grandchildren: Rachel, Franklin, Joel, Adalynn, and Juliette. He is preceded in death by parents Bernadine (Lerch) and Lowell Weaver, who resided in Salisbury Township.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. in Hellertown is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions to assist the family cover cremation and burial expenses will be gratefully received via the following webpage: https://tinyurl.com/weavermemorial. The family also asks that loved ones begin regular colorectal cancer screenings at age 45 (or earlier under certain circumstances), as per CDC guidelines. A simple screening can prevent immeasurable suffering and death.
