I knew Ed from Columbia and from J. Walter Thompson. He was honest, earnest and hard working-a good friend with a good sense of humor.

Ed was my boss at the "big hospital on the hill" in Youngstown, OH until I left in 1994. He was, as always, brilliant, collectively apoplectic in his thinking and undisciplined (the latter in the most positive sense,) until he explained everything! He wasn't a square peg who fit nicely into a square hole. He was more than many I have known, better by himself than with others. The ideas and concepts he conceptualized burst onto the scene in sometimes hysterical ways - but, look out - when that happened, you had a very high IQ coming at you. You were lucky to understand maybe 50 percent of what he came up with! To be sure, on target - all of the time. Miss Edward G. Baur a lot. Because I learned a lot. Because those for whom he was responsible, meant a lot. Rest in Peace, mentor and friend.. Jerry Haber
