Ernest Lowy

Ernest "Uncle Ernie" Lowy, 81, of Boca Raton, FL died July 29, 2017 at Hospice by the Sea, Boca Raton. Born Sept. 5, 1935 in New York City, he was a son of the late Oscar and Rose (Fuhrman) Lowy. Ernie was a Korean War Army Veteran who spent most of his life in Bethlehem working in various sales positions while raising a family. In 1989 he founded Uncle Ernie's Gourmet Cookies, which he operated with his son Rob, until he retired in 1999 and relocated to Florida. He and his wife Geri celebrated 60 years of marriage in January. He was predeceased by his son Steve. Ernie was most proud of his children and his five grandchildren. Survivors: Wife, Geri of Boca Raton; sons, Larry of San Diego, CA, Rob, and his wife Ann of Bethlehem; granddaughters, Chelsea Lowy of Port Tobacco, MD, Lauren Lowy of Miami, FL, Lindsay Lowy of Boca Raton; grandsons, Andy Lowy of Raleigh, NC, and Joshua Lowy of Boca Raton.
