Eugene Miller

1928 - 2016

Eugene E. "Jim" Milller, 88, of Slatington, passed away early Wednesday morning, Nov. 30, 2016, in Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest. He was the loving husband of the late Luella E. (Schleicher) Miller. Born February 8, 1928, he was the son of the late Ethel I. (Roth) Reppert and Warren E. Miller. He was an army veteran of the 304th Signal Battalion, serving from 1946-47 in Japan. He retired from the American Nickeloid Company, Walnutport, in 1993, since being employed in 1969. Born and raised in Rextown of Washington Twp., he worked with his wife, Luella, on remodeling an 1872 two-room school house for their home where he lived for 66 years. Eugene was an avid deer hunter, carpenter and enjoyed working outdoors. He was a member of Good Shepherd U.C.C. of Slatington, Copeechan Fish & Game Club, Slatington Skeet Club, Slatedale and Emerald Fire Companies. Survivors: Daughters, Regina L., wife of John R. Perich, Bonita E. Hewitt, wife of Robert C. Shelly; grandchildren, Jenelle R. Perich, wife of James Buzinski, Troy J. Perich and Matthew D. Hewitt; great-grandson, Jakob J. Buzinski. He was predeceased by his wife, Luella; sisters, Bernetta Kidd and Romaine E. Remaley; brother, John F. Reppert Jr. Services: Funeral Service, 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016, in the church, 3940 Mountain Rd., Slatington. Call 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, in the church. The Reverend James D.
