Kim,

As I looked up Betty Leibert“s passing, memories of Henry Drive came back...such great memories. A childhood I talk about to this very day.
Your father was by far the neighborhood coolest dad and always had time to be our quarterback while we played football in the park next to your home.
All the best to you and your family,

George was a wonderfully kind and compassionate man. He had the biggest heart. I am extremely grateful that I had the privilege of knowing such a thoughtful human being. He was so knowledgeable, but never conceited--ever humble. You didn't always know what he was thinking, but you knew he was thinking of something good he could say to add to the conversation. This most kind gentleman will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to have had the pleasure of his company.

Dear Barbara and family,
My heart is broken upon hearing about your loss. George advised my three children beginning in 2008. He spent hours helping them in regards to their college applications and decisions. As time went on, he was always there to listen and offer advice and support even after their college decisions were made, and extended the same to us as parents. As the years passed by, he enjoyed hearing from them and rejoiced with us in their success. I am forever grateful to him for their happiness in their choices and careers and am honored to have known him. He was a truly great man; always honest, forthright, and supportive. We will miss him terribly, but will always remember him and treasure his words, wisdom, and friendship. May he rest in eternal peace and may you find comfort and peace in the days to come. Much love from our family to yours, Monica and Rob Hodges and children Liz, Tom, and Mary Czajkowski

George, my career in higher education and academic advising began when you offered me a position on the admissions staff. I loved working with the students, for my alma mater, and with you. You were a great mentor and friend, and what a staff we had at that time one of the best professional experiences of my life. Thank you for everything you taught me and for your integrity, caring, and sense of fun. I will remember those years forever.

As a young member of the Muhlenberg Athletics department, starting in 1982 George was one of the first out of the department to welcome me. He was an outstanding person and I always felt a good friend. He will be sorely missed by myself and many of the Muhlenberg community.

George Gibbs was our first point contact with Muhlenberg in 1976. His warmth and caring for students and his love for the college strongly influenced my decision to attend. That first impression resonated for years and grew each time I encountered him around campus. May his family be surrounded by the love and community that he cultivated and embraced through the years. Our thoughts are with you.

As a member of the Muhlenberg College Class of 1979, George inspired me and so many of my classmates to attend this wonderful institution. He became a friend as well as a mentor to so many of us throughout our four years at Muhlenberg and for decades after college. As our guest at our last Reunion, George will be remembered fondly as a dear friend to many Muhlenberg graduates for years to come.
