Gladys I. Herbert, 82, of Upper Saucon Twp. and formerly of Cloverdale Road in Bethlehem, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2011. She was the wife of the late Robert M. Herbert, who died in 2006. Born in Wilkes Barre, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Sophie (Danko) Bernstein. Gladys was a graduate of Liberty High School, class of 1947. She was a First Teller at Keystone Savings Bank for many years and later an Office Manager at Ruthhart Smith Corporation of Bethlehem. Gladys played the alto sax in the Swingettes, an all girl dance band and was a member of Schwabish Gemund Society of Bethlehem. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Church Women. Survivors: Her loving family include, daughter, Donna L. Irvine, with whom she resided; son, Glenn R. Herbert and his partner, Diane Humenik of West Chester, PA; sisters, Betty Hoffert of Pottstown, Jeanne Cressman of Southfield, MI; brother, Frank Bernstein of Middlebury Center, PA and four grandchildren, Kaitlin, Molly, Eric and Brittany. A sister Evelyn Buss died earlier. Services: Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, December 12, 2011 in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 514 Third Ave., Bethlehem.
