Harold Hahn Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cantelmi Long Funeral Home - Bethlehem on Mar. 9, 2026.
Harold H. Hahn, 94, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 7, 2026. He was the devoted husband of the late Barbara Ann (Harvey) Hahn.

Born on January 14, 1932, in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late George and Elva (Barthol) Hahn. Harold was a graduate of Liberty High School, Class of 1949, and later earned his degree from Bethlehem Business College in 1951. He proudly served his country in the United States Army 11th Airborne during the Korean Conflict.

Harold dedicated over 35 years of service to Bethlehem Steel before retiring. After retirement, he continued his strong work ethic by working an additional 11 years at Faitoute Steel in New Jersey.

He was a longtime member of the Hellertown American Legion, where he maintained his membership for more than 60 years and enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow veterans. Harold also enjoyed golfing and spending time outdoors, and he was an enthusiastic supporter of Bethlehem Steel and Philadelphia sports teams.

Harold was a longtime member of the former Trinity United Church of Christ in Bethlehem and was currently a member of St. Thomas United Church of Christ, Bethlehem. Throughout the years he faithfully served his church in various consistory positions and valued the friendships and sense of community his church family brought to his life.

Harold found his greatest joy in his family. He especially loved attending and cheering on his grandchildren at their many activities and events. In earlier years, he also enjoyed giving back to the community by coaching Little League. Family was everything to him, and he took great pride in each generation that followed him. His family also looks forward with joy to the upcoming arrival of his first great-grandchild.

He is survived by his son, James Harold Hahn and wife Margaret; daughter, Nancy A. Ritter and husband James; brother, Earl G. Hahn and wife Colleen; grandchildren, Kyle Hahn and wife Kristen, Madison Varello and husband David, and Jason Ritter; and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lester J. Hahn and Paul B. Hahn, and sister, Arlene Rohland.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street Bethlehem, PA 18018 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10 A.M. until time of the service. Burial will take place at Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
