.I guess he should have taught me a few more things about the computer! haha. I always felt that if I needed help with something at school, all I to do was ask and he would be there. There is one more angel in heaven but there certainly is one more man being missed here on earth. Thank you Jim!

I was saddened to learn about the death of Mr. Ferris my high school chemistry teacher. I have to share that because of Mr. Ferris, I developed a solid foundation in chemistry that greatly helped me as I pursued my career in nursing. I excelled in college and post-college chemistry courses while many of my colleagues had to drop out of nursing because they couldn't cut the grade. To this day, because of a game that we played in Mr. Ferris' class called the "homerun derby," I still know my periodic table and chemical names. Mr. Ferris was a great teacher that inspired so many. His memory will always live on in me and in my work. My condolences to his family and friends.

My thoughts and prayers are with all the family members and friends of Jim. I enjoyed my many years of teaching with him at St. Pius X High School. He was an outstanding teacher who will be sorely missed.

I was Jim´s classmate in grade school & High School & attended St Charles Seminary with him after high school.
His wit: during a science class in high school, our teacher complained about spit balls being thrown. Jim replied " we call them projectiles, Father." The priest and the class cracked up in laughter.

Remember Jim very well from his time in our class at St. Charles Seminary. Had some excellent discussions with him and enjoyed his friendship. He was refined and insightful and an all around good guy.
His obit reflects his dedication and love for his family and to his teaching. I remain grateful to him for his friendship.
