James R. Rex Sr.

James R. Rex Sr. 53, of North Catasauqua, passed away on Friday February 26, 2016. Jim was the husband of Robin (Shearer) Rex and they celebrated their 27th anniversary this past June. Born in Allentown, Jim was a son of Sandra (Yost) Rex Krause of Catasauqua, and the late Richard Rex. Jim worked for Service Electric for the past eight years where he was a member of the IBEW Local #375. Previously he worked for 30 years at. RCN. While his children were growing Jim coached Baseball, Softball, and Wrestling for the Catasauqua Youth Association. He loved fishing and coloring with his children. Jim's passion was restoring old cars and motorcycles. He spent many house watching old westerns, most especially; Gun Smoke, Bonanza, and the Rifleman. Survivors: Surviving with his wife Robin, and mother Sandra, are his children; son James R. "Jimmy" Jr. of Steamboat Springs, CO, and daughter Kayla Rex and her fiancé Chris Reeser of Catasauqua. His brothers; Michael and wife Terri of Catasauqua, and David Krause and wife Darla and their son Davey Jr. of S. Whitehall Twp. Services: Services will be on Tuesday March 1, 2016 at 8:00 pm in the O'Donnell Funeral Home, 1064 Fifth St. N. Catasauqua. Pastor Michael Bodnyk will officiate.
