John L. Morgan
John L. Morgan, 94, of Catasauqua, died Thursday, August 20, 2009 in his residence. He was the husband of Mildred A. (Silfies) Morgan. They would have celebrated their 72 wedding anniversary November 27, 2009. Born in Catasauqua, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Smith) Morgan. John worked for the former Lehigh Valley Dairy, Allentown, as a milkman delivering door-to-door for 32 years before retiring in 1977. He also was a Catasauqua School crossing guard at 14th and Race for many years. He was an avid 76ers and Penn State fan and loved camping and family gatherings. John was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Catasauqua. Survivors: Surviving with his wife are daughters, Barbara, wife of Clyde Shadler, of Catasauqua, Cathy, wife of Paul Reiter, of Catasauqua; son, Ken, husband of Bernadette Morgan, of Whitehall; sister, Mary Margaret Chickey of Bethlehem; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Callery. Services: memorial, will be 11 a.m. Monday in the Brubaker Funeral Home Inc., 234 Walnut Street, Catasauqua, 18032. Morgan Family, I was so sorry to hear of the loss of Mr. Morgan. We have been neighbors for such a long time. He will be missed. My deepest sympathy on your loss. Time is a great healer. May he rest in peace.
