Jonathan Andrew Karo 32 years of age, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Saturday, February 20, 2016. A lifelong Whitehall resident, Jonathan attended Christ the King Elementary School, Central Catholic High School in Allentown, and graduated from LaSalle University in Philadelphia. He was employed by the Brickman Group as an Operations Manager. Jonathan had a passion for collecting WWII memorabilia, playing golf, and watching Alabama football. He enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He was deeply loved and cherished by his family and friends and will be forever missed. Survivors: Jonathan is survived by his parents, Jeffrey and Patricia Karo; siblings, Chrissy Karo (Brad Ziegler) and Jeffrey Karo (Bridget Karo); as well as his grandmothers, Gisella Leonard and Margaret Masters. He is also survived by his niece and nephews, Keegan, Ava, Evan, and Braden, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins who love him very much. Services: His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am on Saturday February 27, 2016 in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 4 South Fifth Street, Coplay, PA 18037, with Rev. Msgr. John J. Martin as the Celebrant. His only viewing will be 5:00 to 8:00 pm Friday in the Gilbert Funeral Home, 444 Pershing Blvd. Whitehall, PA 18052, located 1 block south of the Fullerton Ave exit of Route 22. NO VIEWING SATURDAY. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery. Contributions: Jonathan had a great respect and admiration for our veterans. It was truly a surprise and blessing to have seen and talked to Jon a few months ago after not running into him for quite some time. His personality was infectious to those that he came across. I knew Jon since freshman year of high school. We became good friends quickly and even went to senior prom together. I'm extremely lucky to have carried that friendship with me for all these years. Though we lost touch a bit Jon always had all my respect and admiration. His genuine heart, passion and amazing personality are things I'll forever cherish.

Jon managed the landscaping and snow for me at the Airport Center in Allentown Pa. I knew Jon for a couple years working with him, the business relationship turned into a friendship. Jonathan took care of our front lawn this past year. He was a very caring man, who loved his work, and took great pride in what he did. My husband only spoke to him four times, and myself, once or twice. That just tells you what kind of man he was. He will be missed in our community.

Jeff & Pat, I'm so sadden by the loss of your son, I still can not in my mine understand why he was needed in heaven so early in life, but he loved his job so maybe things needed to to cleaned and brighten up. To the Karo family - I am still in shock as I read this online today. I cannot believe that this happened. John worked for me at Yesterdays Restaurant and he was great when it came to being my "host" and also when he worked in the back with the other boys. So young and such a bright spirit I would have never thought. I remember when he was in college and all of the plans he was making for his future.
