Joseph Afif Atiyeh, 73, of Amar Syria, died peacefully surrounded by his wife, Olga, and their eight children in Torreon, Mexico. He was a son of Afif and Josephine Atiyeh. He was a community leader, a peace maker and successful businessman. We praise Christ for welcoming Joseph into Heaven. Survivors: He was the brother of Arif Atiyeh of Allentown; proud father of Olga, Joseph, Kareem, Sophia, Luis, Patty, Theresa and Poncho; grandfather of 24 beautiful grandchildren to continue his joyful legacy; beloved uncle of Rev. Afaf Atiyeh Darcy, Sam, Joseph, George, Abraham, Dennis and Linda Atiyeh. Services: A Christian burial was held in Mexico. His brother, nephews and nieces are thankful for the love, friendship and happiness he shared with them. Family and friends are welcome to visit his brother, Arif and family at 1034 Third St., Whitehall or call him at 610-266-6151.

dear uncle arif and family: we are so sorry for the loss of your brother/uncle. although we didn't know him-we do know he must have been as good and loving as all of you! our deepest sympathy in this time of great sorrow. he will live forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. God Bless.
