June J. Shoemaker
June J. Shoemaker, 78, of Macungie, died Friday, June 2, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of Irwin C. Shoemaker. They were married for 61 years last October. Born in Yellow house, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Rhodes and Minnie Fields. She worked at the former Royal Manufacturing Company in Alburtis before retiring. She was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Alburtis. Survivors: Husband; daughter, Janet L. Bortz of Allentown; sons, David I. Shoemaker of Alburtis, Kevin L. Shoemaker of Fleetwood; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Schmoyer Funeral Home, 8926 Brookdale Rd., Breinigsville. A calling hour will precede the service Tuesday. www.schmoyerfuneralhome.com. Contributions: To the church, c/o the funeral home, PA 18031-0190.
