Kevin Binder Obituary

Kevin Binder, 60, of Palmerton, passed away on June 8, 2021, at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. He was the husband of Elise (Behler) Binder for the last 24 years.

Born in Coplay, PA, Kevin was the son of Alfred Binder of Coplay and the late Lillian (Marakovits) Binder. He was a 1978 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School and a 1982 graduate of Penn State University, earning a bachelor's degree in Journalism. Kevin spent the past 21 years working at Jackpot Amusements in Bethlehem, where he turned many professional relationships into lasting friendships. He was previously employed by ConAgra Dairy Foods / Beatrice Cheese and P.I.E. Trucking.

He was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Coplay.

Kevin's most important role was being a father. Kevin could often be heard proudly sharing the accomplishments of his son, Matthew, with his co-workers, friends, and family. Kevin could go anywhere and find someone he knew. His infectious personality, thoughtfulness, and generosity will be missed and remembered by all.

Kevin is survived by his wife, son Matthew, father Alfred, sister Kathy, wife of Dan Silverblatt of North Catasauqua, and nieces Jessica and Jenna Silverblatt.

A viewing will be held at Schaeffer Funeral Home, 300 Alum Street, Lehighton, on Friday, June 18th from 6-8pm; masks and social distancing will be required. A private funeral will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Schaeffer Funeral Home, Lehighton, is in charge of arrangements and online condolences may be made at www.schaefferfunerals.com.

Elise,
For the last week I’ve thinking of the summer trips we’d take . To LBI, and the Surf City Hotel , Penn St and
Binz and his famous “chuckle”.
He was always so proud of his son and you . That’s all he could talk about when I’d run into him.

So many memories over so many years. I could certainly tell many stories that only college roommates could share, and believe me the one thing we were at Penn State was true to ourselves. We brought Coplay to State College. Bit my favorite memories occurred after all of our other friends would go home for the night and the two of us would sit on Kevin's front porch and just talk about everything. Those were the most honest and sincere times and will be cherished forever. You're still here in all of our hearts.
