Richard J. Breslin
Richard J. Breslin, 87, of Allentown, died Tuesday, April 18, 2006 in Phoebe Home, Allentown. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Joseph B. and Marguerite M. (Rauch) Breslin. Richard was a buyer and department manager for the Cotton Shop, Hesss and Zollinger-Harned, all of Allentown for a combined 45 years. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the National Guards 213th B Battery. Mr. Breslin was a member of the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Siena, Allentown, where he was a member of the Men of the Cathedral. He was a volunteer at Phoebe Home for many years, and the recipient of the Unsung Heroes Award from Lehigh County in 2004. His exceptional kindness towards others and God made him a unique individual and a blessing to all with whom he came in contact. Survivors: Nephews, Theodore and his wife Jane Breslin, Timothy and his wife Linda Breslin and Thomas and his wife Sharon Breslin; niece, Jeanann and her husband Thomas Oleksa. He was also survived by great-nieces and great-nephews and a great-great-nephew on the way. He was predeceased by brothers Theodore Breslin Sr. and Reverend Joseph B. Breslin. Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. Friday, Cathedral of St. Catherine of Siena, 1825 Turner St., Allentown. Call 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., 1335-37 Linden St., Allentown. Contributions: To the church, 18104 or Phoebe Home, 1925 Turner St., Allentown, PA 18104.
