Ronald Beers Obituary

Ronald C. Beers, 75, of Dana Point, CA died Tuesday October 18, 2016 in his home. Ron was born and raised in Towamensing Twsp., Carbon Co., PA on February 17th, 1941. He was the son of the late Pury F. Beers Jr. and Irene A. (Fehnel) Beers of Palmerton, PA. A 1958 graduate of Palmerton High School he received his BA degree from the University of South Carolina on an NROTC scholarship graduating in June of 1962. After graduating from college he served in the United States Navy for 8 years earning the rank of Lt. Commander J.G. While in the Navy he spent time serving his in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star medal with Combat V for meritorious service against the enemy. After leaving the navy he worked as a Regional Sales Manager for Celotex Corp. until his retirement. Survivors: He is survived by brothers Richard(Margie) Beers of Palmerton and Raymond(Helen) of Lancaster, CA; sisters Carolyn, wife of Wm. Andrews and Patricia, wife of John Kappes, both of Palmerton. Predeceased in death by sister Shirley(Beers) Wuchter of Bath. Brother Terry A. Beers of Myerstown, PA died one day after Ron on October 19, 2016. He had 2 nieces and 14 nephews. Services: Services for Ron and his brother Terry were held on Sunday, October 23rd, 2016 at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Trachsville, PA.

My sympathies to Ron's family and friends on the loss of both Ron and his brother, Terry. I greatly enjoyed Ron's company each March at the NCAA Basketball Tournament games. He was a pleasure to know and I will miss him. Rest in peace, my friend.
