Paul Mace Obituary

Marion- Mike Mace, age 55, of Marion, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010. A native of McDowell County, Mike was born March 28, 1954 and is a son of J.D. Mace of Marion and the late Wilma Washburn Mace. Mike was a member of Providence United Methodist Church. He loved nature, hunting, fishing and spending time with his son. His family meant everything to him. Saddened by the loss of Mike, in addition to his father, are his wife, Debra Cornett Mace of the home; son, Michael David Mace and fiancée, Ashley Leonard of Marion; one step-daughter, Crystal Carper and husband, Matt, of Rock Hill, S.C.; two step-sons, Chris Ledbetter and wife, Whitney, of Charlotte and Adam Ledbetter of Valdosta, Ga.; one brother, Doug Mace and wife, Marieke, of Greenville, N.C.; one sister, Barbara Buchanan and husband, Terry, of Marion; two step-grandchildren, Cody and Kelsey Carper; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral service will be held today, Feb. 11, 2010 at 6 p.m. at Providence United Methodist Church with Rev. David Miner and Rev. George Roberson officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., prior to the service, at the church. Interment will be Friday, Feb. 12, 2010 at 10 a.m. in Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery. Flowers are accepted and appreciated. Those desiring to make a memorial contribution are encouraged by the family to consider Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 83 Providence Church Road, Marion, NC 28752. Westmoreland Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. An online register is available under OBITUARIES at www.westmorelandfuneralhome.com.
