Daniel Henry Souza passed away on October 12, 2017 at the age of 73. Danny lived a happy life full of love and family. He had a huge heart and was always there for anyone in need. Danny enjoyed fishing with his buddies, family get-togethers, the outdoors, and making his famous linguica with his family by his side. Danny was full of laughter and enjoyed every moment of his life. He will be missed by many.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, John and Angelina Souza; his brothers, Lawrence and Stanley Souza; and his sisters, Dorothy McDowell and Betty Frates.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Jean Souza of Turlock; his brothers, Clarence Souza, John Souza and his wife Laura, and Eugene Souza and his wife Sharon; his sister, Winona Young and her husband Skip; his sons, Daniel Henry Souza Jr. and his wife Sandy of Modesto, Donovan Henry Souza and his wife Heather of Riverbank, and Ty Holmes of Merced; his daughters, Tracy Pieper and her husband Randy of Mariposa and Tammy Holmes of Merced; his grandchildren, Tiffany Rodriguez and her husband Jacob of Merced; Brandon Pieper and his wife Tonya of Mariposa, Brian Pieper of Mariposa, Justine Holmes of Merced, Nicholas Souza of Modesto, Jenna Holmes of Merced, Donovan Souza of San Francisco, Zachary Souza of Newman, and Alyssa Souza of Modesto. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Breonna and Jacob Rodriguez of Merced; Brandon, Mercedes, and Malachi Pieper of Mariposa; and Luey Holmes of Merced.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 22nd, at Buhach Pentecost Hall, 2889 N. Buhach Rd., Atwater, CA 95301.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant Care Hospice at 125 N. Broadway, Suite 1A Turlock, CA 95380.
