Gregory Amescua Obituary
SEPT. 29,1948-APR. 30, 2017
Gregory M. Amescua Sr. was born and raised in Merced, Ca. and passed away at his home with his family by his side on April 30, 2017 at the age of 68 years old. Greg was born on September 29, 1948 to Jesus and Carmen Amescua. He attended Merced High School and Merced College. He worked for the Merced Post Office for 35 years and for Community Bank for 7 years. Greg also served in the United States Army. Greg was an avid golfer and Seattle Seahawks fan but most of all he enjoyed being with his family and friends. Greg was loved by many and will be missed by all that were fortunate enough to have known this Angel among men.
Greg is survived by his wife Esther Amescua, Sister, Ann Huerta, daughters, Vadra Amescua Grigsby, Desiree Amescua Pena and Son Gregory Amescua Jr.. Grand Children Avelina and Makayla Amescua, Nyla Pena, Olivia Charbonneau, Madaline and Kathryn Grigsby. Great grand daughter, Violet Grigsby, Son in Laws Todd Grigsby and Daniel Pena and Nephews Martin and Marcos Huerta.
Rosary will be Friday, May 5, 2017 at 12 PM at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 1801 Winton Way, Atwater. Memorial Mass will follow also at the church. Burial will follow at Winton Cemetery.

So sorry for your loss. Greg was our mailman for twelve years when we lived in Merced. He was so kind and we had many conversations about family. When I was expecting my youngest daughter, he would often bring my mail to the door. Our two eldest daughters adored him too. He will live on in our hearts. R.I.P. Greg

I will miss my buddy. We were friends since grammar school. Greg was fun to be around and we will miss seeing him on the golf course, at dances and just at get togethers. He will be truly missed. Marty and I are here for you Esther. May he Rest In Peace.

Greg will be missed by everyone that knew him. If a day was going bad he would always be positive and turn it into a Great Day. I came to know Greg when I first started with the Post Office and later after retirement we kept in contact and would spend a few minutes talking about old times when we saw each other. Greg had a positive way about life and I consider myself very fortunate to be considered a friend of his. Best Wishes to his Family and I'm sure he will always be watching over them.
