This is such sad news! I had Mr. Rebelo my 7th and 8th grade year in 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 for PE. He was one of my favorite teachers!! Happy to say I knew him. Hoover was a better place with Rebelo in it. My condolences to his family and close friends. R.I.P Rebelo!

Coach Rebelo you were an awesome man. I went yo hoover from 96/97 to 2000 and Mr. Rebelo was our PE teacher. I remember one student use to make an excuse when it was time to run the mile. He would say "Mr Rebelo, I pulled a hammy" and Mr. Rebelo would say something funny and say you're running. He even remembered me years later when I brought my ex girlfriends kids with me for orientation. We shook hands and I told him I became a Marine. He was proud of me and smiled. God bless you Mr. Rebelo. And your family. He was a good man and the best PE teacher and coach Hoover ever had. You have my deepest condolences.

Mr Robelo was one of a small handful of teachers over the years that made a lifelong impact on me. I remember his heartfelt individual talks to lift any student up, including myself many times. I was no athlete, I was the chubby kid, and he always took the time. Thank you Mr. Robelo.

Kind, loving, a fighter for the rights of teachers, a great coach, a sense of humor that brought so many smiles into a room, unselfish, giving, a friend who crossed generations, a hero, he is so missed.

I met Mr. Rebelo at Hoover Middle School when I began my educational career. We coached at the same time and often rode the bus with our students. Rebelo was an amazing person who had a great impact on myself, our staff, and a multitude of children. When my father passed away, Keith sent me a genuinely kind message. He was always kind. I am grateful that I got to work on a team with him. I am prayerful for his family and heart hurt for their loss.
