Tony passed away at his home on May 4th doing what he loved to do - working in his yard. Growing up in pre-war San Diego, CA with two brothers and five sisters, Tony started his life adventures selling newspapers on aircraft carriers. He loved traveling and on a trip to visit his sister in the bay area in the mid 50's, he met and fell in love with his wife of 59 years, Maryjane Contardo. Tony is survived by his wife, Maryjane; children Cindy (Ferrara) Donarico and her husband, Dave Donarico, and his son, Andy Ferrara, and his, partner, Dave Hedrick; grandchildren, Tyler Donarico and his wife Rebekah and Noelle (Donarico) Huerta and her husband Thomas; and great grandchildren, Kaylee and Grayson Donarico.
Tony enjoyed many adventures throughout his life; but his family and friends were his greatest joy. Tony always had a smile on his face and a joke on his lips. Over the years, his passions included Taekwondo (3rd degree black belt), fishing, hunting, scuba diving, photography and bocce ball. He was a proud Italian American who loved his church and faith.
Friends and family are invited to the visitation on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 4-8pm at Darling/Fischer Chapel of the Hills (Los Gatos). A rosary and full mass in his honor will be held on Thursday, May 12 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception (Los Gatos) at 11am with burial to follow at Los Gatos Memorial Park.
