Beatrice Tager Obituary

Beatrice Tager

Resident of Saratoga

Nov. 16, 1915 - Jan.28, 2011

Bea passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a long and happy life. Born November 16, 1915 in Brooklyn, NY to Sarah Ballin Lowenberg and Joseph Lowenberg. She spent 55 wonderful years with her beloved husband Sol Tager, who passed away in 1992. She was predeceased by her sister Frances Lowenberg Zuckerman and brother Leo Lowenberg.

Bea was full of life, wit and love for her extended family. She was an accomplished pianist, having performed at Carnegie Hall in her teens. She also played on the Gimbel's radio station in New York City. She was an avid reader of the newspaper, following the financial markets and her favorite stocks, and a lover of all books. Bea's home, built by her husband, was a welcoming central location for all.

Bea was the beloved mother and mother-in-law of Steven and Lois Tager, Robert and Patty Tager and Bruce Tager. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Eileen Tager. She was the loving grandmother to Matthew and Lauren Tager, Seth Tager, Scott and Tamara Tager, Mindy and Adam Lang, Kelli Tager and Erik Paschall, Aron Tager, Jim and Amy Rottenberg, Steven and Susan Rottenberg, Julie Rottenberg, and Alicia Beekman. She is survived by her 9 great-grand children.

Services will be held at 11:00 am at Congregation Shir Hadash, 20 Cherry Blossom Lane, Los Gatos.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in her memory to Congregation Shir Hadash in Los Gatos, Calif.
