Ernest Gonzales Obituary

Ernest A. Gonzales 2/7/33 - 1/5/09 The family of Ernest Gonzales is sad to announce the passing of our dearly beloved Ernie. He was lovingly surrounded by his family and friends until the moment God called him home. He was a great friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Predeceased by parents Braz and Katherine Gonsalves and sister Genevieve. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Leona, sons David Gonzales, Michael (Lilian) Gonzales, John (Inga) Gonzales, and daughter Cathy (Mark) Parshall. 10 grandchildren, Shana Mendoza, Chris and Josh Parshall, Jarrod, Kiel and Jorden Gonzales, Paul Gonzales, Maggie White, Brittany Searcy and Haley Garcia, and 7 great grandchildren. Also survived by his brother David (Barbra) Gonsalves of AZ, nieces Davette Williams and Denise Gonsalves. Ernie was a lifelong resident of Santa Clara having attended St. Clare's grammar school and Santa Clara High School, Class of 1951. An avid golfer who played as often as possible until the last 18 months when his illness prevented it. He belonged to the Santa Clara Golf & Tennis Club. He was also a member of St. Justin's Parish Community for the past 32 years. He had a great love for our Blessed Mother insisting fresh flowers be put in front of her statue on our patio regularly. He was the founder of Mission City Rebar in 1971. The company, now owned by family members, still thrives in Santa Clara and Livermore. Visitation Thursday, 1/08/09, 12:00 noon – 4:00 PM at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 N.
