My Dearest brother Gilbert.
It has been a year since our Heavenly Father called you home....we miss you and love you and That will never change. The day before you left us..you were so serene and confident that you were in our Heavenly Father's Hands... I admired your strong faith. So gentle, so quiet you were. I sang."Las noventa y nueve" song... or "Eran Cien Ovejas" to you over the phone..( a song about Jesus's 100 sheep and one missing..so He leaves the 99 to look for his lost lamb and finds it lost, cold and crying..He gently comforts it and loveingly carries it back to the fold.) You fell asleep several times, and each time you woke up..you asked me to sing it again..that..I did..I guess you knew you were that Lamb. The next day you were gone. I love you my little brother and I will do so forever.
Your sis Lou

Story #2 Gilbert , Richard and I were very small, less than 10 years old when we were at the rancho and went to visit Tia Josepha (mamma vieja) and Papa Lalo. When we were on our way home we got cought in a flash flood. I think it was mother whom saved us.

To the Archibeque family, I have some nice memories of my uncle. I use to imagine that someday I could have as much knowledge as him. I haven't really kept in touch like I would have wanted to. I would like the family to know they are in my prayers. My uncle is with our Lord now, he is finally in peace.

My Dear Brother Gilbert.
To the very last days of your life you have made us , your brothers and sisters , all our children as well as our parents who went before you very proud..because you lived as they wanted us to live..working hard and always being honest.. You..my little brother who I held by the hand as a little boy when we would go to fetch water from Mama Josefita and Papa Lalo's well at the ranch where we were born, grew up to be a fine, intelligent well educated man. Who left an unforgettable mark of outstanding accomplishments on this earth. We were blessed for having you as our brother. We will miss you and will love you forever.

Story # 1. I am Gil's sister and I will share my memories as often as I can. I remember Gil's cigar box when we were children. He kept his favorite marbles, sling shot, cards and whatever he had and most of the time we just wanted to see his treasures. He was in the Alviso newspaper (Alviso Beacon" as the winner of George Main school's winner of the spelling bee. I will always love you Gil.

Dear family, I'm really sad that my Uncle Gilbert has passed. I have lots of good memories. I remember us meeting at our Grandparents house Albert & Ramoncita. They were fun times. My uncle was always so nice. I haven't seen him in a while, but one thing he will never be forgotten. The memories of him are forever in my mind and heart. I'm still in shock and saddened. May God bless those who are grieving. Cause I am.(Sarah Vickie"s daughter.

Dear Mary and Family,

I was very saddened to hear the news of Uncle Gilbert's passing. Even though it has been many, many years since I have seen him, I was always aware of and admired his life-long accomplishments. I was also aware of the love an kindness he shared with his family. Another bright candle has gone out of this world.

Please know that I am thinking of all of you, his wife and family and all of my aunties and uncles who will be grieving at this time. May peace and good memories come to you all. Love, Anna (Lou's daughter)
